Weekly Scripture

After reading the weekly scripture here, I invite you to be in prayer for vulnerable people around the world (Haiti, Chile, Afganistan, Pakistan, African countries and others from the two-thirds world).

Stephen Ministry

Covenant United Methodist Church joined the national Stephen Ministry organization as a member church in 1999. We currently have 10 trained Stephen Ministers available to meet on a one on one basis for any individual facing a transitional or crisis time in their life. Life situations where a Stephen Minister might be called can be:

1. Adjusting to the birth of a child

2. Loss of job

3. Loss of loved one

4. Dealing with everyday stresses of parenting, employment issues, etc.

…just to name a few. Stephen Ministers are trained to be supportive, Christian care giving, listeners. A care giving relationship may be for one-time or meeting weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly over the course of years.

All of our Stephen Ministers have had 50 hours of initial training along with monthly continuing education. Confidentiality is one of our utmost upheld factors in dealing with people and their life situations. You can be assured your situation will be kept confidential.

If you, or someone you know could benefit from a Christian care giving relationship, please contact the Pastor in the church office, 466-1768.
