Weekly Scripture

After reading the weekly scripture here, I invite you to be in prayer for vulnerable people around the world (Haiti, Chile, Afganistan, Pakistan, African countries and others from the global south).

Pastor: Rev. Roger D. Hudson
Email Pastor Roger:

As a new arrival (July 2016), Covenant has amazed my wife, Carla and I. Friendly, thinking, serving, and a place in which folk feel welcome because the God of grace is in this place, it is a privilege to begin serving this congregation. I am from South Africa, Carla from Texas (both foreign countries). We have two sons, Staten and Cuyler, who are now making their own way in the world. I begin my day with coffee, walking my two bird dogs where they can point a few birds, daily devotions, breakfast and then I get to come to work. Exposed to extreme violence in S.A., I am passionately interested in the teachings of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Growing up amongst the amazing wild life of Africa, loving God’s creation is important to me. I believe that Jesus truly does save (“All people need to be saved. All people can be saved. All people can be saved to the utter most.” – John Wesley) and is the hope of all the world.

Being the secretary at Covenant is a ministry for me. Serving here brings me great joy. My family chooses to worship at Covenant because of the caring people and because it feels like home. I love eating out and attending local sporting events with my husband and two teenagers.

I became the custodian at Covenant in April of 2014.  I now know the inside and outside of our building, its nooks and crannies, and what it takes to keep it clean.  My hobbies include woodworking with recycled old wood and gardening.  Contact the church office when you see a need around the church building and I’ll take care of it.
