Sister Church Ministry Annual Scholarship Drive

Since 1989, Covenant UMC has had a sister church relationship with Buenas Nuevas Lutheran Church in El Paisnal, El Salvador. The deep relationship between our congregations led to the scholarship program, begun over 25 years ago, which gives educational opportunities to the children of their community.

Though the schools are now public, most families are unable to afford the fees, uniforms, shoes, and school supplies required to attend.

Currently, we support over 130 K-12 students. Some of our students have even gone on to college with help from individual Covenant families and friends.

$140 provides these items for one child to attend school for a year. 100% of your donation goes directly to a child’s scholarship. There are no overhead fees. (Partial scholarships in any amount are always welcome!)
